SPECIAL MEETING BOARD OF SELECTMEN
JUNE 12TH, 2008 AT 5:00 P.M. – ANTRIM TOWN HALL
PURPOSE: OPENING OF BIDS FOR DEEDED PROPERTY
Present: M. Genest, S. Schacht, G. Webber (via conference call), D. Hanson, W. Prokop
The meeting was opened as a public meeting by Chairman Genest at 5:00 P.M.
The following statement was read: “The purpose of this meeting is to open the sealed bids received for the two (2) parcels of Town property that has been advertised for sale. All bids were received by 4:00 P.M. today, June 12th, 2008. All property is sold as is and the Town will issue a Deed without Covenants to the successful bidders. The question was asked if anyone wished to withdraw their bid and there was no response. The acceptance or rejection of the bids is up to the Board of Selectmen. Mr. Schacht, a selectman, withdrew from the discussion and opening of bids on parcel number 1, located at 340 Smith Road, since he has also submitted a bid. Four (4) bids were received for parcel 1, and one (1) bid was received for parcel 2 and all bids are sealed.”
Chairman Genest opened the one bid for parcel 2, located at 114 Concord Road. The bidder was Andrew and Matthew Robblee with a bid of $10,621.02. The selectmen voted unanimously to accept the bid as presented.
Chairman Genest opened the bids for parcel 1, located at 340 Smith Road. The bids were as follows: P. Bell from Keene, NH bid $37,999.00; J. Mooney from Weare, NH. bid $55,000.00, M. Miller from Antrim, NH bid $20,000.00, and S.R. Schacht Builders bid $70,000.00. Selectmen Genest and Webber via a conference call voted to accept the highest bid which was $70,000.00 from S. R. Schacht Builders.
The selectmen instructed the Town Administrator to notify all the bidders and to return the deposit checks to the unsuccessful bidders.
The meeting adjourned at 5:45 P.M.
